Visibility is not sacrifice.
Some veterans are loud about their service. They wear it. They talk about it. They’re comfortable being seen—and that’s fine. Many served honorably, and that matters.
But combat veterans know something different.
After real exposure—after repeated deployments, loss, and survival—most of us don’t get louder. We get quieter. We minimize. We avoid attention. Not because we’re ashamed, but because we were trained to endure, not explain. Silence becomes survival.
That’s where the disconnect begins.
The post-9/11 war generation was created by policy, sustained by profit, and abandoned by convenience. A small fraction of Americans carried two decades of war while the rest of the country moved on. Over time, patriotism became branding. Service became marketing. Trauma became content.
And visibility replaced accountability.
The problem isn’t that some veterans are loud.
The problem is that the ones who carried the heaviest burden are often the least visible—and the least served.
Combat veterans don’t need the spotlight to know what we did. We live with it. And when support systems, nonprofits, brands, or institutions build around who is seen instead of who is struggling, the quiet ones fall through the cracks.
This isn’t about ranking service.
It’s about recognizing risk.
Since 9/11, more post-9/11 veterans have died by su***de than were killed in combat. Those numbers don’t make commercials. They don’t sell products. But they are the cost.
At PUTASOS, we don’t fight for noise.
We fight for outcomes.
We fight for accountability.
We fight for the ones who carried it quietly.
Quiet doesn’t mean weak.
It means the fight didn’t end when the war did.

If you wore the uniform after 9/11, this was written for you.
The paper is called Patriotism for Profit.
Not for politicians.
Not for corporations.
Not for people who clap once a year and move on.
For the ones who deployed.
For the ones who didn’t, but still carry it.
For the ones who never talk about it.
For the ones who are tired of slogans replacing support.
For 20+ years, our service has been turned into marketing.
Flags on packaging.
Halftime salutes.
“Military appreciation” campaigns.
Meanwhile, too many of our brothers and sisters are struggling quietly with PTSD, moral injury, debt, homelessness, and su***de.
I wrote Patriotism for Profit as a Marine and as a therapist.
No politics.
No hate.
No buzzwords.
Just the truth most veterans already feel but rarely see put into words.

If it resonates, pass it to one veteran who needs to see it.
That’s how this spreads.
Not algorithms.
Brother to brother. Sister to sister.

PUTASOS wasn’t built in a boardroom.
It was built in gyms, parking lots, locker rooms, and after the lights went out.
Combat veterans.
Fighters.
Families.
Kids watching what resilience looks like.
This gear isn’t fashion.
It’s armor for the battles no one sees.
If you’ve ever stood watch…
If you’ve ever fought when no one was cheering…
You already understand.
KEEP THROWING PUTASOS.
This is what a real fighter looks like.
Not just titles.
Not just belts.
Not just wins.
This is Sindy Amador — world champion, warrior, wife, survivor.
She’s been through more than most people will ever know…
and she still chooses love, joy, and faith.
At Putasos, we don’t just fight in the ring.
We fight the battles no one sees.
The mental rounds.
The silent wars.
Watching Sindy laugh, shadowbox, and move with freedom in our Putasos Pro Gloves —
that’s what this brand stands for.
Strength with heart.
Power with humility.
Fighters who keep showing up.
Much love to you and Paco.
