Hello!

Thank you so much for all of the messages and I cannot wait to see your smiling faces again! I wanted to give you the best update that I can at this point...

To avoid booking and having to cancel or to keep changing estimated dates, we are holding off on accepting any new reservations until I can provide a better estimate of a reopening date. I can tell you for sure that it will not be until 2023, but I truly don't know yet which month. I will give another update next week, but this is the most current information for now.

Please be assured though that if you are a legacy guest (returning year after year for the same event), you will be given first booking priority prior to opening up to the public.

Thank you and more soon!

Today is actually the 17th anniversary of my parents leaving their peaceful Arkansas existence to embark on the Talbot Heirs adventure with me 😁😉 As many of you may have already seen on the website though, we are currently closed. Since this page mostly reaches those we have the longest and closest relationships with, I will post a bit more openly and personally.

I have been wanting to post for a while, but wasn't sure what to say regarding when and if there would be a reopening date. The pandemic was quite difficult especially with a business so geared towards personal interactions and so small that scaling down wasn't really possible. That and being so concerned with the safety of our staff and guests made determining how to move forward difficult.

As a path moving forward started to emerge in regards to the pandemic, a series of other unfortunate events resulted in another closure. What began as an exciting planned renovation last year was thwarted by a major repair among other things. I've never come so close to understanding Sisyphus. Each time I started to post an update, I knew the obvious question to be addressed was when would we reopen. I delayed because the answer to this question has been elusive even to myself and I have many times considered not reopening at all.

Having lost so many who inspired has been a contributing factor, but a silver lining emerged from the closure. As I have been personally responding to the emails and calls about being closed, talking to so many amazing guests- many of whom have truly become friends and family- has helped remind me of what is so special about this place. This has truly given me inspiration to hopefully emerge even better than ever...barring any more unforseen events LOL. So on this 17th anniversary I want to thank you all now more than ever. 💙💙💙

I will continue to post updates about more specific dates as I have them, but a heads up that the current situation has pushed us all the way to a fall reopening. I am aiming for definitely prior to St. Jude marathon....hopefully earlier. It will likely not be until July that I start reaching out to fill in reservations for later this year and next year. And, of course, the legacies will all be prioritized.

Much love,

Dana Gabrion

BTW- Tom and Sandy are doing great.Though they refuse to come out of retirement, I aim to rope them into some future visits 😃

Ahhhh we may not have the IBC in January, but there's some comfort in listening to Robert Sampson live on Facebook!

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to a legend today. George Hunt was an incredible man and his art was deeply intertwined with our identity. If you are only familiar with George from our halls, he also designed the Memphis in May posters (for 28 years!!) and even a postage stamp. These photos were from a lovely visit we had in 2018. Rest In Peace, George. 💙
