It’s that time of year!! Don’t fall y’all!!

As the soil continues to cool down and become softer, consider aerating and fertilizing your lawn! This can help reduce soil compaction, promote root growth, and reduce water runoff/puddling to name a few benefits!

So sad to hear the news of our dear friend Jim Woerner passing peacefully to be with Jesus (many of you knew him as owner of Home Analyzers). He loved life, was loved by all his friends and he will be missed. Steve just talked to him last week after he traveled to Costa Rica with his family. Here’s a pic of Steve and Jim enjoying one of our visits to East TN. Safe travels Jim!

Several people have called asking me where the water shut-off valve is - first check your home inspection report. If BPG inspections did your report, look in the Full Report under the Plumbing section in the very beginning it will be listed and there may be photo. If there was an interior shut-off valve that was visible at the time of inspection it will be generally pictured and noted. Many homes do not have an interior shut-off valve (which by the way should ONLY be used in the event of an emergency). The outside shut-off valve is generally located near the sidewalk or street curb under a rectangular meter cover. FIND THE METER before you need it. You will need a water T valve key (pictured below) and if you don't have one now, you need one so check with your neighbors to see if they have one you can borrow if needed. If you have neither of these things, you can turn off the water at the water heater shut-off valve. Right is tight and Left is loose (righty tighty, lefty loosey) will help you remember.
