Help Us Cross the Finish Line — Just $3,600 to Go for our Kindred Place Annual Fund Campaign.

We are deeply grateful to the Germantown Charity Horse Show community for their generous $5,000 contribution to Kindred Place’s Annual Fund Campaign. Their leadership gift, along with the support of other committed donors, has brought us to a powerful moment—we are now just $3,600 away from reaching our $225,000 goal for the year.

We would also like to thank the following donors whose generosity has helped move us within reach of the finish line:

Judge & Mrs. Robert L. Childers – $500
Rusty E. and Donna C. Newman – $200
National Home Services, LLC – $500
Charlie MacCracken – $4,000
Bill McWatters - $200
Corecivic - $5000

Because of donors like these, SchoolSeed's Kindred Place continues to provide trauma-informed mental health counseling and family support to children and parents who need a safe place to heal. Every dollar raised strengthens our ability to respond to growing needs in our community.

Today, we invite you to help us close this final gap. Whether you give $100, $250, $500, or a leadership gift to finish strong, your support will help us reach our $225,000 Annual Fund goal and enter the new year positioned to serve even more families.
We are so close. With your help, we can cross the finish line together. Click on the following link to make your year end contribution: https://schoolseed.charityproud.org/.../MiniCampaign/41172

Kindred Place Now Accepting TennCare to Expand Access to Mental Health Care

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Kindred Place, a trusted nonprofit counseling and education center located at 2180 Union Avenue, is proud to announce that it is now accepting TennCare, Tennessee’s Medicaid program. This expansion of coverage marks a major step forward in the organization’s mission to make high-quality mental health services accessible to all families, regardless of income or insurance status.

Kindred Place, which is now managed by the SchoolSeed Foundation, continues its long-standing mission of helping families heal and thrive. SchoolSeed, known for its leadership in managing community-based programs that strengthen children and families, assumed management of Kindred Place in 2024 to ensure that its vital counseling and education services continue to serve the Memphis community for generations to come.

For decades, Kindred Place has provided a safe and supportive environment for individuals, couples, and families seeking help with life’s challenges. The organization’s services include trauma-focused therapy, play therapy for children, parenting education, and individual and family counseling. By joining the TennCare network, Kindred Place can now offer these vital services to more residents who rely on Medicaid for their healthcare needs.

“Removing access barriers—financial and otherwise—to these services has always been a key part of our mission,” said Dr. Sharon Griffin, Executive Director of Program Implementation. “Now, we’re able to serve an even larger sector of the city and ensure that families in need can receive the care they deserve.”

Accepting TennCare allows Kindred Place to address a growing community need for affordable behavioral health services. Shelby County continues to experience high rates of mental health challenges among both children and adults, and cost remains one of the biggest obstacles to care. With TennCare now accepted, families and individuals can access counseling at little or no out-of-pocket cost.

Appointments are available Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. Individuals interested in scheduling an intake or confirming TennCare eligibility can call (901) 276-2200 or visit www.kindred-place.org

With this new development—and under the stewardship of SchoolSeed Foundation—Kindred Place reaffirms its commitment to helping families heal, grow, and thrive across the Memphis community.
