Wow. So unreal. Tough losing you on my birthday and the first day of a new year. Much love to one of the absolute greatest to EVER do it, Lola Mitchell better known as Gangsta Boo (). You are A TRUE pioneer. There’s an ENTIRE GENERATION of rappers today both male AND female who’s style is influenced by the things you did on the mic. I’m struggling to find words right now, though there’s so much I want to say. You are the Queen of Memphis but the entire world has lost a legend. Three Six Mafia could’ve never been complete without you. You really put it down for the ladies, bringing in platinum and gold plaques in an otherwise all male group and at that time more than ever, a male dominated industry. Your honesty made me better. Like that time you told me “your beats hard but this one boring as hell. Make your beats do more.” You said in an interview you wanted to be remembered as The Queen of Memphis, The Queen of Crunk, and the first to help sell over a million copies of an album in Memphis history. You can rest well knowing you’ll FOREVER be remembered by millions for just that.
