There’s no surprise that we are disadvantaged in the entrepreneurial and social media space. However, is it always a product of disadvantage? Or lack of strategy?

There are business owners who feel that posting everyday is marketing. Or that making subliminal “my friends and family don’t support me” statuses or even the shady, guilt trip posts to reel in sales is the key to brand success.

That alone highlights the fact that there needs to be a deeper understanding of marketing strategy. It is no longer an option. We take up the most space and make the least. Stop tryna play fair or bare minimum in a game that wasn’t designed for you to win away.

Working hard causes burnout and regret. Working smart is what gets you the levels of achievement that you once thought could only happen in your dreams.

Although I could help everyone, I know that I’m not meant to. But what I will do… is stress the importance of getting ahead of the curve. That time is now.

Here is how you can start a business in five steps:

1) Get a business address. No P.O. Box. get a virtual business mailbox with a real street address from ipostal1 or UPS

2) Obtain your EIN. this is FREE and generated on the IRS website.

3) Get a business license with your state. Here in TN, you can obtain your business license online for $30. If you want to establish your LLC, the filing fee is $300. Both of which can be done online.

4) Get a bank account. I don't care if you don't have your first customer for a year! Start your business off right in the beginning.

5) Get a DUNS number. This is the number you need to build business credit WITHOUT even fooling with your social. This number is generated though Dunn & Bradstreet. It is FREE to get, but also a privilege to have.
