How nations are collaborating to further space exploration | Spectra 01/25/2023

Space collaboration strengthens the relationship between nations on the path to future space exploration. One of the most successful acts of such a collaboration is the International Space Station which we hear about every day! Having this level of collaboration in an extra-terrestrial environment would promote the growth of the human race significantly!

Recently, representatives from the United States and Japan signed a collaborative agreement between the two nations to promote partnership and move forward together at the NASA Headquarters in Washington DC. Joint activities between the countries include space science exploration, space transportation and safety, aeronautical science development, and so on. These agreements could promote several things such as developing unified space policies for outer space, developing educational activities, and working together on disaster management and relief plans. What other advantages do you think such collaborations could provide?

How nations are collaborating to further space exploration | Spectra One of the revolutions happening in our lifetime is the democratization of space. Once the focus of a handful of countries, the mission has widened to include collaboration between nations to open up the final frontier.

Orion spacecraft heads back home!!

On December 6th, the uncrewed Orion spacecraft that was launched on board SLS exited the moon’s gravitational influence and will splash down the coast of California on December 11. Mission Artemis 1 marks the first test flight of the mega-rocket Space Launch System (SLS) and the Orion spacecraft.

The spacecraft has been circumnavigating the moon and then entered into a distant retrograde orbit, which allows it to fly beyond 40,000 miles beyond the far side of the moon. This is the farthest any spacecraft has traveled that is designed to carry humans!

Being in the final stretch of its journey, Orion captured different views by passing above the surface of the moon including the Apollo landing sites. After its second close fly-by, which was about 80 miles above the lunar surface, Orion fired up its main engine, creating its longest burn (about 3.5 minutes), which set its path back home.

The much-awaited Artemis I mission set a historic path, traveling more than 1.3 million miles in space, ensuring the viability of its current systems, thereby paving a way for the upcoming manned missions to the moon!

Eve Air Mobility Eve V3 (concept Design) 11/21/2022

One of the key accelerators in the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) market that is determined to change the current transport experiences is EmbraerX.

EmbraerX is a subsidiary of the Embraer group, that focuses on developing eVTOL aircraft for Urban Air Mobility. The main design elements for operating a UAM concept are optimal safety and reliability, human-centered design and features, redundant systems, and a low noise footprint to operate in a community. Passenger comfort and accessibility for everyone is one of the key considerations.

With these under consideration, the company unveiled its first full-sized cabin mock-up of the Eve eVTOL passenger air taxi aircraft this year at the Farnborough International airshow exhibition. Further development of the Eve aircraft will take place through Eve Urban Air Mobility Solutions, an offshoot of EmbraerX.

These innovative developments pave an excellent way to create the concepts of air taxis and transportation over the coming decade, making the aviation industry very exciting!
