Balcony deck roof replacement and waterproofing project completed over this garage porch after active leaking and structural deck deterioration were discovered. The existing failed decking was removed, damaged materials were replaced, and the entire surface was rebuilt and professionally waterproofed to help protect the structure from future moisture intrusion.

This elevated waterproof deck system was designed to create a durable, watertight surface while preparing the area for a future finished walking system installation.

For the final finished surface, the owner will need to install a floating deck system using either porcelain pavers, composite deck tiles, or wood tiles over the waterproof membrane. A heavy-duty geotextile fabric or protective rubber mat system should be installed first to help protect the waterproof membrane from punctures and long-term wear. Adjustable pedestal systems or interlocking deck tile grids can then be used to create a level, elevated walking surface while allowing proper drainage beneath the finished flooring system.
