Our new ASD Spotlight series introduces you to the dedicated Team ASD superstars you have been speaking with on the phone over the years to learn about the real people behind the voices you hear every day. This week we are pleased to spotlight our Assistant Supervisor, Gabriela Downey who first joined ASD in May 2016. When she is not training employees or providing exceptional support to funeral home callers, Gabriela enjoys working out and taking part in athletic competitions that raise awareness for important causes. She can always be counted on to represent Team ASD in races and athletic challenges we have participated in the past. Her favorite one to date was the Tough Mudder because of how memorable and self-rewarding the experience was.
Gabriela is passionate about her role in helping others as a bilingual Call Specialist here at ASD. She has been praised by funeral directors in the past for going the extra mile to ensure callers who are struggling to cope receive the support they need. Gabriela says, “You never know how your compassion and understanding can go a long way from a simple compassionate tone. I've definitely learned to be grateful for life every day because I know how quick it can turn for the worst in an instant listening to some of these callers.”

This week we are pleased to spotlight our Senior Call Specialist, Denise Bell, who first joined ASD in December 2009. When she is not providing first class customer service to your callers, Denise loves spending time with her two teenage boys, exploring nature, reading and doing crafts.
Denise shared: “I have always been a patient person, however with that being said, since working at ASD my patience and tolerance for people has grown substantially. I definitely treat others differently, especially strangers.”
