Anatomy of a bartop.
This is the wing that completes the L of the bartop.
I admittedly went a little overboard with the dominos, but only because half of this section of the bartop will be overhang (24" Width with 12" of overhang).
Next up, I'll be adding c-channel to further reinforce that overhang.

Got the main bartop sized and flattened this weekend. Next step is adding C-channel to the overhang portion.
The small bartop milling is also complete- that should be going to glue-up sometime this week.
Loving how that grain is looking so far!

Starting to mill up some lumber today for a 13 foot bartop (154 inches to be exact).
After consultation, the client settled on quarter-sawn white oak, and I could not be more excited to get these boards cleaned up to get a better look at all that wonderful figure.
Here we go!

So one downside of having different thicknesses for your drawer sides and fronts is that it introduces more room for error.
I forgot to move my marking gauge from the side depth (after cutting the tails for the drawer back-to-side connections) to the front depth, and wound up with a drawer box 1/4" too shallow. Luckily the sides are only 9" and this was just the first one, so catching up new material wasn't terribly time consuming.
All in all, 4 drawers wrapped up with two to go! Well... still have to dado out for the bottoms 😅

Two to go. Then on to the fronts.
