4. When you’re having a bad day - he drops everything to comfort you, run you a bath, or just hold you.

5. Your achievements - he brags about you louder than you do and celebrates every win like it’s his own.

6. Meeting your family & friends - he shows up excited, respectful, and wants to be part of your world.

7. Quality time - he puts his phone down and actually gives you his full attention.

8. Your dreams & goals - he supports you, encourages you, and helps you chase them.

9. How you feel - he checks in, listens, and makes sure you always feel safe, loved, and heard.

10. Saying “I love you” — he doesn’t just say it, he shows it every single day through actions.The right one will never make you question where you stand.

My mom used to say, “Stick with the guy that loves you, not the guy you love. Because the guy that loves you will go to the moon and back for you, but the guy you love will only love you on his terms.”

And the older I get, the more I understand what she meant.

Because the man who truly loves you doesn’t make you question your worth. He doesn’t leave you guessing, waiting, or begging for the bare minimum. His love is steady, consistent, and intentional. He shows up for you not just when it’s easy, but when it’s hard. He chooses you every single day without making it feel like a competition.

She’s always said a woman can grow to love someone, deeply and genuinely, when she feels safe, respected, and valued. But a man… a man usually knows from the beginning. He either sees you and chooses you fully, or he doesn’t—and no amount of love you pour into him will change that.
