The Prepare2Vote Ambassadors are amazing. When they started with me none of them were old enough to vote
When I started Prepare2Vote, I envisioned a program that would empower people with the knowledge, confidence, and motivation to participate in our democracy. I knew that lasting change could come not just from the information we share, but the interactions we had. What I couldn’t imagine was that a group of young people, not old enough to vote, would become a key to our mission, and by their own actions, create a new, impactful program.
They are excited for next year and looking to grow in other towns, a peer to peer program to encourage civic engagement.

Independence Day celebrates the day our founding fathers adopted the Declaration of Independence, the document that established our independence from Great Britain and puts forth the principals by which this new independent government will work. (July 4, 1776)
Considered an act of treason, it's basically a break-up letter to Great Britain, consisting of 27 grievances against King George III.😤
❤️ 🇺🇸 But, it also established the key principals for what was becoming the United States:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Thank you to the New Jersey State Legislature and Governor for making sure eligible voters in New Jersey are protected and have access to the resources and materials they need to get registered and vote!
It's important to understand your priorities when deciding who to vote for. And we like Pew Research Center, because that's what they do, research. Maybe give this a whirl and see where you are.

Voting all the way up and down the ballot matters. Each level of government impacts the next in ways you might not think about. And if they don't work together, or they do, it probably impacts you. You might want or need a new bus stop, and the State might agree, but your local government is in charge of zoning, and if they don't agree, the bus stop won't happen. Or, if everyone agrees, you get a bus stop! That's just a small example of why every level of government is important to you. Please share.
