We see it all too often.. a church launches a campaign for a building, or a new ministry, or a community initiative - and the messaging is a little convoluted.

What begins with good motives, and a good heart, often gets misconstrued through poorly thought out messaging online.

Remember, most of your congregation attends your church with the mindset of WIIFM - What's In It For Me?

So instead of launching a new building campaign by saying:

"would you prayerfully partner with us in the vision God has given us for expanding this house?"

(Which sounds spiritual and right at first glance - but it's all about YOU and not the people you serve)

Try:

"Our heart is to see God grow people - in their walk with Him, and in community with others. People like you are waiting to encounter God with us - would you help make room for what God wants to do in your life and the people around you?"

It's a subtle shift...but it makes a HUGE difference.
