I had a thought a few days back that I shared with my grandson Eli on the way to his Doctors appt.

I said, “Instead of praying for a particular political candidate to win in the election, why aren’t we praying for God’s will to be done.” 🤔🙏🏻

In says in Matthew, “This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Without hesitation, Eli’s immediate response was, “We need a world wide Amber Alert!” He then mimics the buzzing sounds 🔉that comes with an Amber Alert and says…
“Pray, Pray, Pray.”

OUCH! How many times have we said things that we wish we could take back. Proverbs tells us, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭18‬:‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We must understand that the fight between flesh…what we want and spirit …God’s will is so very real.

Out of the mouth of a child—or in this case a young teenager who is beginning to truly understand the power of prayer! I know this much—the battle between flesh and spirit, is real! What we want or “think” is best vs God’s will. The flesh is weak, but the spirit is strong. I desire the Lord’s will to be done in every area of my life AND on earth as it is in heaven.

Happy Monday! The Rhyne Retreat in Canton is in the final stages, with completion set for early June!!

Polished concrete floors are complete, all doors and trim installed and now the painters are on full steam ahead. Several different paints and stains are being incorporated so it’s exciting to watch it progress. Tile will be installed soon in the showers and granite will follow later this month.

We are working on the final plans for the open house which will be around the middle of June. Many longtime residents of Canton who have stopped by during the construction process have expressed interest in touring this old century Modern style home in the heart of downtown Canton.
