Island Party fan-favorite will headline once again on Friday, July 17! Carlos Jones and the P.L.U.S. Band have been at every Island Party for decades. Read on to hear about their band members.

Carlos (guitar and vocals) has been entertaining audiences for 35+ years with various groups. Now, he and the P.L.U.S. (Peace, Love, Unity Syndicate) Band entertain audiences with their unique brand of reggae and a positive message.

Max Eger (drums) is a long-time student of the reggae genre, so his playing is rooted in a deep understanding of how the music is structured.

George Gordon (tambourine) is Carlos' mentor and the group’s connection to Jamaican music and culture. He was born in Jamaica and is connected to many Jamaican reggae pioneers.

Roy Isaacs' (percussion) travels to Nepal, Columbia, South America, and home country, India, led to his wealth of musical knowledge and new instruments to add to the band’s rich textural sound.

Curt Johnson (percussion) plays a variety of percussion instruments including congas, tambourine, maracas, and timbales, all while adding the melodic and soulful harmony parts to the vocal blend.

Peter Platten (keyboard and vocals) is a classically trained and jazz-oriented artist who provides "color" by playing multiple keyboard parts simultaneously.

Visit the Massillon Museum on Saturday, July 11, for a free Do the Mu workshop, when instructor Angelina Virginis will lead participants in a yellow brick road collaborative mural! This workshop is in connection with Ohio Goes to the Movies at the Lions Lincoln Theatre.

All ages and ability levels are welcome and supplies will be provided. Guests can drop in anytime between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m.

Please note Do the Mu in July will take place on the second Saturday as MassMu will be closed in observance of Independence Day.
