Silver Alert System for Michigan Seniors
MI Senate Needs to Pass House Bill 4362

In March of 2006 the Oklahoma House passed a Resolution resulting in the creation of the first Silver Alert system in the country. Subsequently, 37 states and the District of Columbia have adopted such systems to help locate and assist vulnerable seniors, yet 20 years later Michigan has not done so.

Last April, my colleague, Representative Gina Johnson, introduced House Bill 4362, of which I am a proud co-sponsor, to establish a Silver Alert system in Michigan, and we successfully passed it out of the House of Representatives, on a vote of 103-2, a few months later. Since that time it has languished in the Senate Judiciary Committee without action.

I encourage my colleagues across the rotunda to take action on HB 4362 ASAP!
