Iconic's 2nd auction hitting the site today was built to thrive far beyond the pavement; the KTM 1090 Adventure R combines serious off road capability with long distance practicality! This one's from '18 and it's available for bid now with NO RESERVE on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

The 2018 KTM 1090 Adventure R is a dirt-focused adventure bike featuring a 1,050cc V-twin engine producing 125 hp and 80 ft-lbs of torque, optimized for lower-RPM grunt. The LC8 engine is designed for smoother, more tractable power than the 1190, with a heavier flywheel for better low-speed off-road traction.

The R model features 48mm fully adjustable WP suspension designed for harsh off-road duty. It comes equipped with standard crash bars, tubeless 21/18-inch wheels, and a 531 lb wet weight, offering a rugged, off-road biased, and highly capable riding experience.

The 1090R comes with Ride-by-wire throttle, selectable ride modes (including Off-Road), multi-mode ABS, and Traction Control. Brembo 4-piston calipers (320mm) front, 2-piston caliper (267mm) rear, with cornering ABS. While dirt-focused, the bike has an adjustable screen, levers, and pegs.

This example's odometer shows 21,464 miles.

Motocross Action Magazine back in '81 had this to say about Iconic's 2nd auction wrapping up Friday: “The Greatest Bike Ever Made.” It's a Maico Mega 2 and it's available for bid until 11AM PT on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com

Flaunting one of the best dirtbike names ever, the Maico 490 Mega 2 was considered by many to be one of the best open class motorcross bikes ever built. Back in the 80s, there was a lot of prestige associated with riding a Maico, but even this was the cream of the crop. The Mega 2 is still an absolute legend – Maico sold more of this exact model than Honda sold across their entire MX lineup in 1981.

Jody Weisel, one of the nation’s best test riders, once said that the 1981 Maico 490 Mega 2 had the best handling and best powerband in this history of motocross. And that’s coming from someone who’s pretty much ridden everything out there. The 490 put out an absurd 53 horsepower, which was controlled by a wet multi-disc clutch and was transmitted through a five-speed gearbox. This whole incredible package weighed just 244 pounds. If you want to hear more gushing praise for it, read a piece on off-road.com simply entitled, “How Good Was the Maico 490?”

The seller acquired it from a private collector roughly eight years ago. The seller rode it once and then put it away on display in his collection. There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown.

Modifications:
-Clarke fuel tank and petcock
-Lighting kit with enduro fender and lights
-Aftermarket expansion chamber
-V**e ignition
-Acerbis handguards
-Sun Rims
-Works shocks
-The sale includes “two kick start levers; one is original, the other updated aftermarket”

Currently located in Panorama City, California, this Maico is offered on a Bill of Sale only.
