94th Airlift Wing - Dobbins Air Reserve Base

Those of us who work at Dobbins Air Reserve Base know Captain Charles Dobbins is an exemplary individual. Our installation is named for Captain Dobbins, a Marietta native who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and paid the ultimate sacrifice when his C-47 was shot down near Sicily during World War II.

Today, we hope more people may learn about Captain Dobbins, as Marietta Mayor Steve Tumlin has proclaimed today to be Captain Charles Dobbins Day.

On this anniversary of his death, we reflect on Captain Dobbins' life and legacy.
