Congratulations to Southview Elementary on receiving their Project ADAM Heart Safe School Designation! ❤️👏

This is a recognition that Southview has demonstrated strong cardiac emergency preparedness through awareness, training, and a practiced response plan which reflects their commitment to a safer environment for students, staff, and visitors.

This initiative was led by elementary school nurse Caitlin Maranell, Southview health assistant Mike Downey, and a group of trained staff members on Southview's Medical First Response Team.

Southview is the first school in the CFAUSD to receive this designation, and efforts are currently underway for all CFAUSD schools to receive this recognition to demonstrate that our district is committed and prepared to respond in the event of a sudden cardiac emergency on campus, increasing the potential to save a life.

Project ADAM news from North Carolina!
This week, they awarded the Heart Safe School Designation to the final school in the Columbus County school district, making them the third entire Heart Safe school district in the state! Thank you to the wonderful school nurses in the district who made this happen at their individual schools.
