At the inaugural Project Béisbol All-Star Bash on July 12, we are proud to present the 2026 Project Béisbol Impact Award to former MLB All-Star and Project Béisbol Board Vice Chair Jed Lowrie.
Throughout his career, Jed exemplified excellence, leadership, and perseverance. Beyond the game, he has dedicated his time and voice to creating opportunities for young people through education, baseball, and international exchange.

The Project Béisbol Impact Award recognizes individuals who use the power of sport to strengthen communities, expand opportunities, and inspire the next generation. Jed’s longstanding commitment to our mission makes him a truly deserving recipient.

Our experience in Cali was truly remarkable. We had the opportunity to share meaningful moments with over 60 players and their families from three local baseball clubs, including our Fenix PB Quinamayó.

During this event, we had the opportunity to hear from the boys, girls, parents and coaches about their experience with Project Beisbol over the past 10 years and the power of baseball in their community, Quinamayo. We extend our sincere gratitude to the community leaders and the Junta de Acción Comunal, whose commitment and support make spaces like this possible. Cali is a special place—there is a unique energy in its people, in their passion for education, and in the determination and drive of both the youth and their families.

Their enthusiasm and gratitude continue to inspire us to move forward with the mission of Project Baseball. Moments like these reaffirm why we do what we do.

We are committed to contributing to the growth of baseball in Colombia by building meaningful connections and implementing a strategic development plan focused on broad participation and long-term impact. We firmly believe that with the right tools, structure, and support, this vision will not only be possible—but highly successful!

What an incredible month it was with our most recent international intern, Isabel Leachman a Colombian-American student from Orlando, Florida.

With deep family roots in both Colombia and baseball, Isabel arrived in Cali eager to serve and fully prepared to embrace the challenges and rewards of the work ahead. Throughout her internship, she did it all—from collecting and delivering donations to co-teaching in our All-Star English program—making a meaningful impact every step of the way.

She wrapped up her time in Colombia with a special visit to El Peñol, helping strengthen our programming both on and off the field. Her boundless energy, positive spirit, and unwavering commitment to serving others have been truly contagious. She quickly became an important part of the PB family, and we hope this is only the beginning of a long relationship with our organization.
