A little gem of a find. I'm sure we'll incorporate some of his insights into future curriculum at Drawn.

Most artists are accustomed to working alone, drawing or painting in a room with no one around to offer feedback, push them further, or work alongside them. That's what makes learning and practicing in a group setting so valuable. The idea took root for me back in college, watching classmates and instructors tackle the same subject I was drawing. Even though we were all looking at the same thing, each person's drawing came out completely different. That difference is what makes group practice so useful: it gives everyone a chance to compare approaches, offer and receive critique, find inspiration, and genuinely grow as an artist.
