Some detractors of the 988 Su***de and Crisis Hotline are issuing a clarion call advising that the line not be used. It is feared that too many people in crisis will be involuntarily held. While it is true that su***des increase at a higher rate after any confinement, it is too early to draw any conclusions related to the hotline.
