STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK IS COMING!!

Help us celebrate our amazing staff! Staff Appreciation Week is coming (May 4-8) and we want to make it extra special for our incredible Cedar Island staff!

Here's how you can get involved with what our PTO has planned:
• Complete a "thank you" card: You’ll see two “thank you” cards come home with your student(s) this week. Please fill them out—one for your child’s homeroom teacher and one for another staff member who means a lot to your family — and return by Thursday, April 30. Share what makes them special, a favorite memory, or whatever is on your heart!
• Make a donation: We’re collecting donations of drinks (sparkling water and soda), handheld treats (cookies, brownies, etc.), or monetary donations to help cover the week’s events. Every little bit helps us make this possible!

o If you'd like to donate food or drink, please contact Ashley Funke ([email protected]) to coordinate.
o If you'd like to make a monetary donation, please send cash or check (made out to Cedar Island PTO) with your child in an envelope labeled "Staff appreciation week." This will be safely collected in your child's class along with the thank you cards.
• Volunteer: If you have the bandwidth to help set up/clean up on Monday, Wednesday or Friday the week of May 4, we would welcome the support! Please contact Ashley Funke ([email protected]) with your availability.

Our staff gives so much to our students and families every day. With your help, we can show them just how much they are loved.

Bobcat Bash 2026 is almost here, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you on Friday, April 10. This annual spring carnival brings our community together for games, food, and fun as we head into the final weeks of the school year. 100% of the proceeds go back to the Cedar Island PTO to support programs and experiences that enrich your child’s education!

Pre‑order by Monday, April 6, to lock in the $18 presale price ($20 at the door). Each wristband includes unlimited games, VIP access, 5 raffle tickets, hair coloring, and face painting. Pre‑ordered wristbands will be sent home Wednesday, April 8, with the child you indicate on the form. Make sure to include your child's first and last name and teacher's name; without that information, we cannot process your preorder. Questions? Email [email protected].

SILENT AUCTION: DONATE AND BID

Don't forget: Silent auction basket items are due Friday, April 3 (see graphic for classroom themes)!

And make sure to stop by the media center at the Bash to bid on amazing items—think game nights, Children's Theater tickets, sports paraphernalia and more. A handout with instructions on the bidding app will come home next week. Questions? Email [email protected].

GAMES, ACTIVITIES & FOOD

Enjoy face painting, a human slot machine, Maple Grove Fire obstacle course, hockey shootout, a sensory‑friendly quiet room, and more. Food trucks include What’s the Scoop, Mama’s Tacos, and Pronto Pups.

REMINDERS

- This is not a drop‑off event; an adult must stay with all children under 18.

- Parking is available in the school lot. Please avoid Door 5 until after 6 p.m. for Kidstop.
