We are excited to share that the Pew Fundraiser for our sister parish, St. Catherine’s, is officially complete! Thank you for being a community that answers the call to love and serve.
In just 4 months our parish has raised enough funds to purchase the pews they desperately need. Because of your strong commitment to the relationship, Haitian craftsmen will soon begin building them, also providing jobs and helping their economy.
The burden to move school benches each Sunday has taken a toll on the community. In a message of thanks below, Fr. Claude shares what your kindness means to his parish:
A Message of Thanks from Haiti
“Today is a special day - special because you are sharing such good news with me.
The finishing work at Saint Catherine’s had been at a standstill for a long time; we were simply unable to proceed. The fact that we are starting up again is excellent news.
Our current situation is far from ideal. People do not have enough room to sit. Every Saturday, we have to clear out the classrooms to retrieve the school benches, and every Sunday afternoon, we have to load them all back up to return them to the rooms. This weekly routine has taken a heavy toll, and the benches are badly damaged.
Once again, thank you for this wonderful news. May God bless the parishioners of Saint Joseph who contributed to making this project a reality.”

Fr. Mike's Reflections
Another of my favorite stories of celebrating Anointing of the Sick involved a man who had a brain tumor. He was losing his sight. He was losing his ability to walk. With his family gathered around I anointed him on a Saturday. The following Monday he went to Mayo Clinic in Rochester. As is typical of them they started all over on Monday. There were blood test and more X-rays. He had X-rays on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday morning. Thursday afternoon they told him he no longer had the tumor. It had been there on Monday but was gone by Wednesday. The following weekend he walked down for communion and looked great. Even the doctors were amazed. Miracles do happen.

Parking lot maintenance is high on our summer maintenance priority list. Just as we resurfaced both entryway driveways last summer, this summer’s work will include patching, chip sealing, and seal coating. All of this is being done in an effort to extend the life of our lots before a total replacement is needed.
Work on the lot will be done in three phases this summer. Please excuse the mess (and dust) especially during the chip sealing process. The cost of this project is just over $60,000. Your Commitment to Parish Life (CPL and CPL Plus) allows us to take on important projects like this.
In the coming weeks, we ask for your extra generous financial gifts to CPL Plus so that we can completely fund this project without dipping into other funds. As always, your generosity is greatly appreciated. You can give at sjtw.net/donations. Select "CPL Plus" from the fund dropdown.
