This weekend, members of our department will be participating in the Murph Challenge in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. 💪
The Murph Challenge is a well-known CrossFit “Hero” workout performed annually around Memorial Day to honor Michael P. Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2005.
We would also like to give a huge thank you to Keating Toyota for sponsoring the purchase of our event shirts. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Good luck to all participants, and thank you for representing our department and community with pride. There will be more pictures to come after the event.

🚨 Animal Control Operations Update 🚨
UPDATE 5/18/2026
The department has temporarily suspended picking up and intake of animals because partner shelters are at capacity—one due to recent Parvo exposure and another already full.
There is no community threat, but animal pickup will be limited to emergencies until the situation improves.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and will share updates as they become available.
The Manvel Police Department is temporarily suspending the pickup and intake of animals due to current disease outbreaks and capacity limitations at our partner shelters, which have suspended incoming transfers.
During this time, animal pickup services will be limited to emergency situations only.
We are actively working on solutions and will provide updates as more information becomes available. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time.
