This Mother’s Day, it is worth pausing to recognize that some of the most meaningful lessons about money are not taught through lectures, but through love, consistency, and example.

A mom’s influence often shows up in the quiet moments: choosing patience over impulse, showing gratitude, teaching that money is not something to chase but something to steward with care and intention.

Long before kids understand investing or wealth, they pick up on behavior. They watch how decisions are made, how generosity is expressed, and how priorities are set.

Those small, everyday moments shape how they will think, act, and lead for the rest of their lives.

Behind many strong financial habits is a mom who modeled discipline, perspective, and purpose.

Today we celebrate the women who are not just raising families but shaping futures in ways that will last for generations.

In honor of Small Business Week this week, here’s what my time in roofing taught me about business and managing wealth: https://theweddleteam.com/what-roofing-taught-me-about-business-and-managing-wealth/

If you own a business, three questions may be worth asking:
• Where are you fighting your design instead of leveraging your strengths?
• What lives only in your head that belongs in a checklist?
• Are your customers merely served—or made to feel important?

Libby had an adventurous day taking her high school sophomore on her first official college visit! It’s never too early to start visiting schools and allowing dreams to be envisioned in different places. What they learned on this first run: you will be surprised by little program details you didn’t know were offered! Write a pros and cons list the same day after the visit when it’s fresh on your mind. Engage the tour guide students with all the questions! They have the real answers on what it’s like.

Libby’s bonus on this trip? Seeing the real coffee shop and promenade that the book Theo of Golden is based on!!! Her favorite book of the year so far. If you know, you know. Want a road trip? Columbus, GA is worth the visit!
