A Zeuxis exhibition organized by Eve Mansdorf

There will be a closing reception on February 7 featuring a talk by exhibition organizer Eve Mansdorf. Details to follow. We hope you can join us!

In a painting doors and windows are portals, framing devices and metaphors. They can also lurk in the background as merely incidental to another artistic intention. Is it possible to encounter an interior without these passageways? In choosing the paintings for this exhibition I was intrigued by the artists’ use of these architectural motifs to create mystery, distraction, irony, movement through space, and sometimes a moment of voyeurism.
