As many in the Manhattan area, our State Office also sustained storm damage on June 9th. Fortunately, our building and vehicles are all ok, but many of our trees in our arboretum and honor grove have been damaged or fallen down.

9 trees structurally failed and needed to be removed from the grounds; 5 of those were mature Ponderosa Pines planted back in the 1930's. These trees were the start of our arboretum, so we are sad to say goodbye to some of the original stand. Additionally, 17 trees were identified as damaged and needed repair to prevent further defects and failures. Our staff got right to work cleaning up these trees to ensure the arboretum is a safe place for all members of the public.

If you experienced tree damage from recent storms or would like to have preventative maintenance done for the trees on your property, visit our website for information on contacting certified arborists: https://buff.ly/uLLGDxg
