Real pressure or cosmetic action?
Belgian MEP Marc Botenga says EU sanctions on a handful of Israeli settlers are largely “cosmetic” while Europe continues “funding, financing and arming” Israel.
Botenga points out that EU officials themselves described attacks by settlers in the occupied West Bank as “settler terrorism” — yet Brussels still refuses wider action against Israel.
“If this is terrorism,” he says, “then sanctioning one or two organisations or one or two individuals is not going to cut it.”
