✨ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

With heavy hearts, we share that the Luminous Tour is closing its doors for the foreseeable future. Being a change maker is never easy, and we know that meaningful transformation takes time.

We are so proud of the work we’ve done, the memories we’ve created, and the community we’ve built together. However, sometimes the best way forward is to pause, reflect, and ensure our efforts are making the greatest impact for the greater good.

To our students and families: All those registered for future conventions will receive an email with further details and full refunds. If you have any questions, we are here for you and happy to chat.

This is not goodbye forever. Our commitment to bettering dance education and fostering community remains at the heart of what we do. Thank you for being part of our journey and for believing in the power of change. 💛

With love and gratitude,
Sarah + Team Luminous

Our tap team at Luminous is truly world-class!

Christina Carminucci (she/her) is a NYC-based tap dancer recognized as one of Dance Magazine’s 2022 “25 to Watch”. While earning her BBA at Pace University, she so fortunately studied, extensively, under the mentorship of Derick K Grant. The Jacob’s Pillow Tap Program alumna has since appeared in works by Grant (What Is This Thing Called Love), Dormeshia (Bessie Award Winning Rhythm is Life), and Jumaane Taylor (Supreme Love) and has performed at reputable venues including The Joyce Theater, Lincoln Center, 92Y, and the Chicago Jazz Showcase. She toured internationally with Christopher Erk’s Tap Factor performing on board the #1 rated cruise ship in the world, the MS Europa 2. In 2021, Christina created The Solidarity Series, a live performance platform dedicated to the collaboration of tap dance and jazz music, eventually garnering the recognition of the Battery Dance Festival, Chicago Human Rhythm Project, and Dormeshia Tap Collective. Passionate about sharing her love and knowledge of the form, she teaches regularly at Steps on Broadway, guest teaches at various workshops around the country and world, and hosts a free jam session the last Friday of every month in NYC. Christina is also an adjunct professor of Tap Dance at Marymount Manhattan College.
