SARAH NEEDS A PLACEMENT BY THURSDAY JULY 16, 2026 BY 12PM: Hello, my name is Sarah. : My animal id is . I am a desexed female brown tabby at the . The shelter thinks I am about 8 years 2 months old.
I came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 6/22/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- moving. Sarah is on the at-risk list due to behavior. She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. Due to her stress levels, it is in her best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as quickly as possible. She would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give her plenty of time and space to adjust, and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to strangers. What my friends at ACC say about me:
I have lived with cats in my previous home.
I’m sensitive and shy. I’ll need extra help from you.
I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. 6-27-2026: Interpretation:
-Very mild anemia - ro inflammation vs infection vs transient/normal variant
-Eosinophilia - ro allergy (suspected EGC) vs other
-Hyperglycemia - likely stress
-Proteinuria - ro artifact vs true
ACTIVITY LEVEL:: Subdued
VOCAL:: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: : Shy ,Timid,Independent
POTENTIAL CHALLENGES:: Fearful,New home adjustment period
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: : Level 3
RECOMMENDATIONS:: No young children
Recommendations comments:: Due to Sarah’s behavior during evaluation and the fact that she has no prior experience living with children apart from a prior scratch incident when startled, the feline behavior team recommends a home with no children below the age of 13.
