🧡 Student-Athlete Spotlight of the Week: Pehansa Samarakoon
Pehansa Samarakoon of CREC Aerospace & Engineering High School continues to stand out through leadership, academic excellence, and athletic achievement.
A 3-sport student-athlete competing in girls’ soccer, indoor track, and outdoor track, Pehansa has helped set multiple school records in relays, sprinting, long jump, and high jump events.
Beyond athletics, she has SERVed for four years on the CREC Student Senate along with the CIAC and GHC Student-Athlete Advisory Leadership Boards—helping support both her school and communities across Connecticut.
Pehansa has also managed CAS Student Activities social media accounts while participating in programs including Yale Young Global Scholars, DT Cares, and the State Student Advisory Council on Education.
With an outstanding 4.60 cumulative GPA, Pehansa will continue her academic journey at Columbia University.
