Happy from one brand new mom to another ❤️ 
 
I had no idea what to expect, how my body would respond, or how it would all work. But I knew I wanted to try and I knew that as long as I fed her, loved her, and gave her all the snuggles she would be okay. I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity and experience to breastfeed Madison 🤱 
 
I asked for help weeks before my due date, made sure I knew lactation consultants would be available once I delivered, and got all the hands on help I could to prepare myself for what I now know was the most magical experience of my life. I gotta say that the absolute coolest thing my body has ever done is create life and feed this little girl 🥰 
 
We definitely had a rocky start but found our groove and learned together. My goal was to breastfeed six months if not longer and we made it seven. I will be honest that I didn’t want to stop however Madi bit me and let’s just say there was no going back. Unfortunately, I was unable to relax from that point on and it appeared to have caused a reduction in my milk supply which made me terribly sad. I felt like I had failed her because I could not get past that experience…the mom shaming world is real 😢 
 
Having the love and support from my husband, my doctor, her pediatrician, and my mama friends helped tremendously. And at the end of the day FED IS BEST ✌🏻 
 
To all the mamas who are in this stage of mommy hood know this that no matter what your journey looks like its yours and its beautiful. And what you decide to do with feeding for you and your little is your choice to make. I will ALWAYS respect and love you no matter what! Proud of US 😘 
 

My dad is no longer in my life.

This was my choice, a decision I made many years ago.  One that was necessary for my family, my mental health, and my happiness.

My dad was a verbally abusive man, a controlling man, a toxic man, and an alcoholic. It took me a long time to realize that I couldn’t change him but I could change my environment and I had the power to choose those who I wanted in it.

I know there are a lot of people like me who feel this same lack ❤️ Whether you never had a father, never knew your father, or lost your father like my husband Jim did when he was only seven years old. I feel your pain, grief, guilt, and lack especially on a day like today.

But for the first time, my family got to celebrate this amazing man today. This man is the most important person in our life. 

Jim you are by far a hero with a cape 🦸‍♂️

Happy Father’s Day to a dad who can build anything, fix everything, and deal with any problem with patience and ease 😭

I am grateful each and everyday that Madi Skye has you as her father. A man who is truly reliable no matter the situation 🙌
