A Little Extra

We are raising funds for our friend Baxter this week. He ate a sock (well, it might have been 3...) and he wasn't passing them and he ended up needing surgery but that's when things got complicated, he got a MRSA infection and has been at risk for losing one of his beautiful white paws. Baxter is on the mend with a discounted laser program from his vet to aid in healing but his ER surgery and MRSA bill are substantial. We'd like to raise $3000 to cover a 1/3 of it for his people, one of whom was DOGEd earlier this week. 😕

Baxter has a bestie--Watson--who was BESIDE himself worried when Baxter was in the hospital, and two little girls who love him very much.

It is and we are not raising money for A Little Extra today but we do have a wish- That you donate $5 for a light on our friends tree at Fauquier SPCA in memory of our friend, and co-founder, Dr Kent Smith. If you want to send the $5 to A Little Extra we will send it along to the shelter with our own donation, or you can just donate directly.

Let's light up that tree so that it is so bright he can see it from whatever cloud he has reorganized in Heaven.

Hi Friends:

We had a friend reach out from California looking for some help on an emergency vet bill--she rescued two (probably dumped) kittens (maybe 5 or 6 months old?) from traffic on a busy road in Riverside, but one was hit and needed emergency surgery for a broken jaw. We are hoping to raise $1500 to help her out with the bill which so far is about $4500. Both kitties already have a home but Bianca (the one with the broken jaw) will need to heal up first, then a spay plus all the usual; Popcorn will need a vet check, and a neuter etc.
