Joe Hendricks Jr - Competitive Shooter

One of my favorite things to do in the shooting sports is being able to help other competitors and pass knowledge along. This weekend I was able to spend time as an instructor for a clinic put on by the Service Rifle Team at Erie County Conservation League.

While we're still new at the whole clinic thing I think everyone had a great time and hopefully learned a few things along the way. This was our second year and hopefully this continues and can become a staple in Ohio shooting community for years to come.

Few more pictures from this weekend. I was pretty much over shooting for the year but I really enjoyed this weekend. I'm sure shooting well helped too.

I forgot how well this gun shoots but with and through I shouldn't be surprised at all.

Cool to win the Ohio Penn League Championship against an incredible group of competitors. Scores were tight the whole day so it felt nice to be able to come out on top.

Well this year's nationals is over for me. I fought with my rifle the entire two weeks, starting with having to swap barrels the Saturday before we left. It felt like it was just one thing after another. From a thread protector not being tight on the barrel, to my coat sleeve catching the elevation turret during a rapid fire string...but I was able to end it on a high note. The Ohio Service Rifle Team was able to secure our second Soldier Marathon Trophy in 3 years, which was no easy feat this year considering the conditions we were handed. But this team wasn't going to be stopped. I'm incredibly proud to coach and be a firing member of this team.

Can't thank and for their support this year. And for for putting on another fantastic match....But I'm not quite done yet. Still have a couple goals left to achieve
