“NEVER FORGET”
Our KPCA students enjoyed an awesome day of remembrance this week. Huge thank you to The City of South Lebanon Village Community Church South Lebanon Ohio for creating such amazing spaces of honor and remembrance for us to enjoy and educate our students!

Remembering September 11, 2001 - “NEVER FORGET” -

On September 11, 2001, a very sad and shocking event happened in our nation. Terrorists hijacked airplanes and attacked the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and a field in Pennsylvania. Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives that day.

While this was a day of tragedy, it was also a day that showed us the power of courage, love, and sacrifice.

Courage and Heroes

Many firefighters, police officers, and first responders rushed into danger to save lives. Some of them gave their own lives so that others could live. Ordinary people—neighbors, co-workers, and even strangers—helped one another with compassion and bravery.

The Bible reminds us in John 15:13 (NKJV):

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”

These men and women lived out that truth, showing us the greatest form of love through sacrifice.

Community and Resilience

In the days that followed, people came together across America. Communities supported one another, prayed together, and reached out with kindness. Even in darkness, God’s light shined through the love and unity of people.

The Apostle Paul teaches us in Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV):

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

This verse reminds us that evil in the world is not about people themselves, but about the darkness of sin and evil forces. Our call as Christians is to overcome evil with good, with love, and with faith in Christ.

Hope and Remembrance

September 11th is a day we remember, not only for the loss, but for the lessons it taught us. We honor the lives lost, the heroes who acted bravely, and the communities that showed love and compassion.

When we say “Never Forget,” we commit ourselves to remembering both the pain and the love shown that day. We choose to honor the memory by living with kindness, helping others, and loving our neighbors—even those who are different from us.

Call to Action for Students

As young Christians, you can honor 9/11 by:
• Showing kindness to your classmates and teachers
• Standing up for those who need a friend
• Praying for our nation, leaders, and communities
• Living each day with love, remembering that God calls us to be lights in a dark world

Closing Scripture of Hope

Romans 12:21 (NKJV):

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Let us always remember September 11th with hearts of honor, courage, and love—pointing others to the hope we have in Jesus Christ.
