I have been dreaming of a more simple life. Finding a way back to trading, bartering. Doing business a little differently. I think one way to start is by growing the community. Meet me on the porch at Rooted 8 Farm Store for a Homesteaders Swap Meet. I'm so excited to see this come to life. I'm bringing plants to share, some crochet stuff & a hopeful heart.

Once a month, let’s gather with fellow homesteaders, gardeners, makers, and anyone who values community.

Bring two lists:

If you have items to trade, bring those too! Whether it’s:
🥚 Fresh eggs
🧈 Homemade butter
🌱 Plants or seeds
🍯 Honey
🧼 Handmade goods
🥫 Extra jams or canned goods
🐓 Hatching eggs
🪵 Firewood
🛠️ Tools
📚 Knowledge
⏰ Your time

Need help planting blueberries? Someone here might lend a hand.

Have extra tomato seedlings? Trade them for a jar of jam.

Need butter but have an abundance of eggs? Let’s swap.

Maybe you’re great at fencing but need help pruning fruit trees. Trade skills instead of money.

This isn’t just about stuff. It’s about building a community where we help each other grow.

No pressure to have something fancy to trade. Sometimes the most valuable thing you can offer is your time, your experience, or simply a willingness to help.

If you’ve been looking for your village, maybe this is it.

🪑 Bring: A chair, your lists, and anything you’d like to trade or share.

🍋 We’ll have: Lemonade and a simple meat & cheese spread.

🧺 Feel free to bring: A favorite snack, appetizer, dessert, or drink to share if you’d like. It’s completely optional, but always appreciated!

Do we have any interest in our almost 400 strong community of having a quilting circle community?

The idea: a group of people, meeting once or twice a month who have been hand quilting, are working on their own project, or are beginners wanting to learn the craft.

Gather at the store with some treats and build beautiful keepsakes for our families or community members with milestones.

People could bring pieces, squares, we could start a project together from scratch Or help with one another’s etc.
