Meet one of our current !

🦡 Lilith Wehrs, senior ()

Majors: Environmental Studies and Community & Organizational Development

Study Abroad Program: UW Environmental Ethics and Indigenous Rights in Ecuador

Leah will be taking over the Instagram stories this Friday, May 29, from Ecuador! 🇪🇨

💬 "One goal I have is to learn from and connect with the local Indigenous activists who are at the forefront of the fight against extractive industries. Their invaluable perspective and knowledge surrounding cultural and environmental resilience are something I'm really excited to learn about.

"I chose this program because it is the culmination of my personal and professional interests. Grassroots community organizing and environmental justice are where I see myself in the future. Learning from a group of Indigenous activists who use unique legal, cultural, and environmental strategies to protect people and the environment will help inform how I approach environmentalism rooted in equity."
