Hear that buzz? It's World Bee Day! 🐝

Did you know one out of every three bites of food you eat depends on pollinators like bees? They're the tiny heroes behind so much of what ends up on our plates.

Supporting local farms that practice pollinator-friendly practices, like planting diverse crops, avoiding harmful pesticides, and planting habitats for bees is one easy (and delicious) way to help pollinators thrive.

Check out this sweet read from Edible Madison about bees, honey, and the care that goes into keeping it all going: ediblemadison.com/stories/honey. Then head to their recipe archives for more delicious ways to drizzle, dunk, and devour your way through a jar of local honey! 🍯

We had the pleasure of hosting an Access Hour on WORT FM this past Monday, May 11 - and lucky for you, we have the recording!

Listen here: bit.ly/access-hour-2026

Together with some amazing guests in studio and via audio clips, we dug into some big (and important) questions:

🥕 What is resilience?
🥕 How are our local farmers adapting to changing climates and markets?
🥕 What are ways in which we, as eaters and community members, can contribute to resilient food communities?

Grab a snack & tune in when you have a moment. We'd love to hear what you think!

Huge appreciation to Hinu, Executive Director of the Ho-Chunk Nation Department of Agriculture; Kristoff, apprentice from Squashington Farm and Atoms to Apples; and Rami of Atoms to Apples for joining us in the studio.

And thank you to Nan & Elena from the Department of Community & Environmental Sociology at UW-Madison; Lauren from Happy Day Farmhaus; Annia, Bella, and chal from we have always been related; Laura from Orange Cat Community Farm; David from Lovefood Farm; Patty from Wonka’s Harvest; Sarah from Squashington Farm; and Mark from Voss Organics for sharing their stories via audio clips during the program!
