That was a long but productive day. Five volunteers set out on a workday paddle at the Token Creek Conservancy on Saturday, June 27. The goal was to paddle to Token Creek County Park and clear any obstructions in anticipation of the Mad City Paddlers' July 4 Picnic, Paddle, & Meeting. What should have been a three to four-hour excursion turned into a rigorous six-hour workday.

Steve from Capitol Water Trails was joined by four volunteers from two different watershed groups: Jared and Robert from the Mad City Paddlers, and Ryan and Jeff from the Maunesha River Alliance.

The skilled crew eliminated eight major blockages that would have otherwise required a portage, removed five smaller problem areas, widened existing paths, and improved numerous line-of-sight issues.

The workday illustrated the collaboration and shared purpose of the three volunteer organizations dedicated to caring for our environment and its vital watersheds.
