"Getting the opportunity to direct a documentary on the Edmund Fitzgerald meant so much to me. I love researching, interviewing, and telling stories that matter with both journalistic integrity and empathy, and this project reminded me exactly why I’m passionate about documentary filmmaking. Along the way, I had the chance to meet incredible people, including the granddaughters of wheelsman John Simmons and Wisconsin’s lead maritime archaeologist, Tamara Thomsen, among many others. I’m deeply grateful to every single person who helped make this documentary possible.

What made the experience even more unforgettable were the moments behind the scenes. Our team traveled all across Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota, from the ports of Superior and Duluth to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point and even into the remote Upper Peninsula. This project was an unforgettable experience that I’ll always carry with me."
