Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Law Enforcement Torch Run today!

What took place today was about so much more than a run. It was about community, inclusion, and supporting the incredible athletes of Special Olympics. The smiles on the faces of the kids today as they crossed the finish line reminded us exactly why this event is so important. Those moments are what it’s all about.

A special thank you goes out to the teachers and students who joined us on the route and helped make this year’s run such a memorable success. Your enthusiasm, energy, and support meant the world to us.

We are also grateful to the residents, families, and businesses who cheered us on along the way. Madison once again showed what makes this community so special.

🏃‍♂️🔥 Today members of the Madison Police Department are proud to once again participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of the New Jersey Special Olympics!

The Madison leg of the Torch Run is expected to begin between 10:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m from the Madison High School. Runners will travel down Central Avenue, onto Brittin Street, through the Madison Junior School, then continue along Main Street, Prospect Street, and Kings Road before finishing at the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building (50 Kings Road) between approximately 11:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

We invite our residents, businesses, and community members to come out along the route and show their support for our runners and, most importantly, the incredible athletes of Special Olympics. Your cheers and encouragement truly help make this event special.

Please join us in wishing Patrolman DiLandro, Captain Longo, and all of the riders a safe journey as they depart for Washington, D.C. tomorrow as part of the Police Unity Tour.

Patrolman DiLandro will once again represent the Rose City on the bike, participating in the ride for his third consecutive year. Madison officers have proudly taken part in the Unity Tour since its inception in 1997.
