This , we're taking a closer look at The Dovecote House, one of Madison's favorite historic homes. Built circa 1830, the home survived the devastating 1869 fire thanks to quick-thinking residents who covered it with wet carpets and blankets to protect it from flying sparks. Today, its ornate dovecote remains a reminder of the many stories nesting in this small town.
