What Got Gathered
05/04/2026
Hey, how 'bout the whole spring abundance thing, huh? One of my favorite ways to celebrate the season is to gather amazing wild food, and to teach other people to do it.
What Got Gathered is gonna have a walk in Madison from 2 to 5 on Sunday, May 10th. It's a wondrous time and place to meet edible plants and fungi!

The last What Got Gathered Wild Food Wander of the season takes place this Sunday! Details are at http://whatgotgathered.com-wildfoodwanders.
What Got Gathered brings to you a long-planned spicy event!
On Saturday, February 22nd, we’ll host a blatantly imitative “Hot Ones”-style event in the beautiful room adjacent to our space at Flavors Catering Kitchen in Sun Prairie. You’ll get ten chicken wings, of ascending heat, featuring five What Got Gathered hot sauces, as well as soothing drinks, celery with blue cheese and ranch, and cookies to finish. Those who want to will also be subject to randomly-selected amplified interviews with local actor Anthony Leonard, as they climb the ladder of delicious masochism.
We’re grateful to have so many fans of our fermented sauces, with chilies sourced from local farmers, and with wild seasonings foraged by Andy, founder of What Got Gathered. This is a delightful and silly way to feature them–and bottles of sauce will also be available for you to bring home!
We have 40 tickets available, at $30, or $50 for pairs of people. It’ll happen at 2 p.m. on 2/22, at Flavors Catering Kitchen–605 Chase Blvd. in Sun Prairie.
Buy tickets via PayPal at [email protected], or via Venmo at (where we’ll come up as AndyG). Please also send us an email ([email protected]), as things get confusing on these platforms–at least to aging weirdos like ourselves.
We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
all the best

Hello, everybody!
Walking around Hoyt Park in Madison a couple of days ago, where I have a side job as Conservation Ranger, I noticed just how many fall-growth plants are around that typically only arrive in the spring. Looking at the forecast, they won't last another week--so I thought I'd see if anyone in the area is interested in a walk THIS Sunday--yes, two days from now--at the park. I'm thinking something like 11-2, but my day is pretty flexible.
I'd need at least six people to do it, at the usual rate of $50 for adults, with discounts for kids.
Let me know if you're interested!
all the best,
Andy
