A pair of cuts I can be proud of! Executed at the recent Krump Pow in my first rapier tournament, it was pleasing to have no small amount of practice pay off in at least a few instances :)

A helmet for sparring, a sparring helmet!

Made for my clubmate's noggin, I based this helmet on early burgonet forms from around 1500 as I feel like it suits his activities well: as a general purpose mask alternative and gateway drug into harnischfechten ;)

Let me know if you want to see more of this helmet!

One way to make vambraces (and a lot of other armor pieces) is to use a cross-peen hammer to repeatedly strike the inside of the pieces to give it organic and historical compound curves which make the armor stronger and more human-shaped.

Also lol @ my anvil scooting across the bench

Some fun in the park where I, along with many of my friends, organized a Hema skirmish event!

At about 50 fencers, this was our largest event so far after seven years of holding them, adjusting our rules and methods each and every time to make it more of an event we would enjoy attending (and many did!) ⚔️

A very special shout to , without whom this event would never be the way it was. Indeed, they got plenty of cardio from shouting and running in the soupy ground that was our very favorite Olin Park!

Watch out for , who was kind enough to lend his drone + piloting skills :)

From [about] start to finish: a really rough breastplate I made some time ago, complete with a lance rest. I used a method I've relarely seen, although it seems I never took a picture of its pattern, where there is a split in the bottom half which is welded together to create most of the shape. I think a second try would make for something much cleaner!

Roughly based on an example from the Wade Allen Collection :)
