I was weird, and I didn’t care. I wasn’t for everyone, and I wasn’t trying to be. I was celebrating myself, and one by one, I found other people who were at a point in their lives where they were diving into that same sense of self-assurance or were right on the cusp of it. Sometimes, I found people who had taken that plunge long before I did. We found each other, and it was like the Universe affirming again and again that we were on the right path, and we were not alone on it.

Ludahiss seems content with his foster placement! He has made friends with all the big kitties, and he’s learned to give a little hiss if they annoy him, which has encouraged respectful relationships all around.

I recently had to give a little hiss myself to call out some bad behavior and got accused of being a bully. 🙄🤔 But sometimes we have to accept we’ll be the bad guy when we hold a boundary, and that’s okay. Better to be seen as the bad guy for doing the right thing than to actually be the bad guy for (a) doing the wrong thing or (b) doing nothing at all — which is also the wrong thing.
