On 9 June, ESGR volunteer Bill Rheingans presented a Patriot Award to Store Manager Ashley Berger of Dick’s Sporting Goods on Greendale. The nominator was Private Kathie Trasher of the Wisconsin National Guard.
Private Trasher said of Ms. Berger, “Ashley has always been very supportive in all that I do. Whenever I am training, she always finds someone to replace my shifts that I am going to miss and checks in on me when I am doing training. There has never been a problem with my service and to her and for that, I am very appreciative.”

On 15 June ESGR Volunteer Mark Mathwig presented a Patriot Award to Kristin Lefel of Oakwood Village. The award was presented on behalf of Tia Nielsen, spouse of SSG Nielsen serving in the Army National Guard.
Tia said of Ms. Lefel, “She supported my time off and check-ins while my spouse was deployed to Syria in support of Operation Inherent Resolve/Operation Spartan Shield. I gave birth to our first child while he was deployed. She was very supportive and encouraged time spent as a mother to newborn while the father was deployed. She made the transition back to work seamless and allowed for time off to acclimate.”

On 15 June and 17 June ESGR Volunteer LeRoy Frahm presented four Patriot Awards to the Grand Chute Fire Department. They were presented to Fire Chief Steve Denzien, Assistant Chief Matthew Kasriel, Battalion Chief Chris Jape, and Assistant Chief Kelly Hanink. The four firefighters were nominated by SGT Seth Barr serving in the Army National Guard.
