Years in the Making! Last Tuesday we saw a result of our years-long efforts to better connect local farmers and institutions, as well as a result of going on three years of relationship building and collaboration with

A dozen local producers who have worked with REAP throughout this process showcased their products, partially in person and partially on the newly launched Maize wholesale marketplace, to institutional buyers from across our community. The moment brought together the power of face-to-face relationship building and the efficiency of a digital platform built for exactly this kind of work.

🌾All flourishing is mutual 🌾

Throughout our summer appeal, we've been reflecting on stories and quotes that speak to our work and our team. Top of mind when we started this exercise was a Robin Wall Kimmerer passage from Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants:

“If one [pecan] tree fruits, they all fruit—there are no soloists. Not one tree in a grove, but the whole grove; not one grove in the forest, but every grove; all across the county and all across the state. The trees act not as individuals, but somehow as a collective. Exactly how they do this, we don’t yet know. But what we see is the power of unity. What happens to one happens to us all. We can starve together or feast together. All flourishing is mutual.”
