The Day Sipper

Wine education can take many forms. For me, tasting wine is just the beginning.

Learning about wine means exploring the world behind the glass—its regions, climates, soils, and the countless decisions that shape each bottle. I love “spinning the globe” and virtually visiting wine regions, digging into how place and process come together to create something unique.

WSET has been a trusted resource in my continued education, from blogs and videos to formal certifications. After completing Levels 1 and 2, I realized that growing The Day Sipper also meant learning how to build a business with intention—because education doesn’t stop at wine alone.

Last year, my focus was on French wines across nine different regions. While I haven’t visited most of them in person, studying through maps, videos, and virtual resources has helped me better understand how each region expresses itself in the glass. Tools like Wine Folly have made that learning engaging, approachable, and genuinely fun.

This ongoing curiosity is what I bring into every in-home experience—so guests don’t just taste wine, but gain a deeper appreciation for the story it tells.

I’m Jamie Day—wife, mom, and now a grandmother—and I’ve spent much of my life creating spaces where people feel cared for and welcomed. From teaching and children’s ministry to serving in leadership at our church, my work has always centered on people and connection.

In 2022, a trip to southern France unexpectedly sparked a new chapter. Visiting vineyards and learning from a sommelier opened my eyes to the beauty and story behind wine. I pursued formal education through WSET, earning my Level 1 and Level 2 certifications, and The Day Sipper was born.

I created this business to keep learning and to share wine in a way that feels relaxed, approachable, and meant to be enjoyed together. Gathering people around the table—and watching connection happen—is the heart behind everything I do.
