I've analyzed the transition from the old per-hour charging rates in 2023 to the new pricing structure, including the impact of the upcoming state tax on charging costs. Here are my findings on how these changes affect EV charging in Wisconsin.

Why Tesla Charging Costs Less in Wisconsin Even with the New EV Tax Wisconsin drivers may worry about the new 3-cent-per-kWh tax on EV charging, but Tesla's pricing changes lead to savings. In 5 of 6 Supercharger locations, costs are lower than last year, especially in Madison. Even with the tax, most rates remain cheaper than the old time-based charges.
